Do not make these mistakes in the year 2018!

Have you submitted a notice of the taxpayer on prolongation of the period for tax return submission to the financial authority in this form? If you have done so by April 3, 2018, you are obliged to submit a tax return on the personal income tax by July 2, 2018, the latest. Have you applied a different type of prolongation notice? The financial authority has certainly refused it and sent you a call for tax return submission.
If you included information on your foreign income in your notice, you have prolonged the submission period by October 1, 2018. What happens if you do not state your foreign income in your tax return? In such a case, the financial authority will not accept your notice of prolongation and it will send you a fine for failure to submit a tax return in time. It will also charge a late payment interest if you are subject to paying taxes. Therefore, we recommend submitting a tax return as soon as possible and paying the income test without delay.

Do not forget the obligatory electronic communication with the Financial Administration!

As of July 1, 2018, all the natural persons receiving income from enterprise are obliged to communicate with financial authorities in the electronic form. That means that submitting a tax return by post on July 2, 2018, will not be accepted by financial authorities, and you should be ready to pay a fine in the amount of 30 EUR for failure to submit a tax return. We recommend not leaving the tax return duty for the last moment.
Electronic communication cannot be arranged at short notice. The whole process may take 5 work days. On June 30, 2018, it is possible to set up electronic communication with a financial authority via the Portal of the Financial Administration after logging in with a name and password. As of July 1, 2018, the only possibility will be using an ID card with a chip and setting up an advanced electronic signature (ZEP).
If you had waited till July 2, 2018, and if you do not own a valid certificate for electronic signatures via an ID card, there is a very little chance that you will avoid a fine for failure to submit a tax return.
Therefore, do not postpone your duty to submit a tax return for the year 2017.
